Credit/ No Credit Class

The first and most obvious method for creating a Pass/Fail class is to just assign a class to the Credit/No Credit distinction. That being said, there are a few options to consider before setting up the class.

1. Set a grade threshold for Credit/No Credit Classes:

a. Click the Settings tab on the left sidebar, then select the General sub-tab at the top of the page.

b. Navigate to the the option marked “Credit/No Credit Classes: Minimum passing grade”. Gradelink will automatically have this set to 70%, which means that a student must achieve a grade higher than a 70% to receive credit for the class.

c. Click Submit Changes.

2. Assign the Credit/No Credit type to a Class:

a. Click the Classes tab on the left sidebar, and navigate to the class you’d like to change to a Credit/No Credit class type.

b. Under the Class Type drop-down menu, change to “Credit/No Credit”.

c. Click Save. Your class will now officially be set up based on the Credit/No Credit threshold you’ve assigned, and all final grades on report cards will show as either “CR” or “NC”. A normal Grade Scale (ABCDF, OGSN, etc.) can still be used by teachers; Gradelink will simply automatically convert the final grade.

Lunch/ Extended Care Classes

The Lunch/Extended Care class type is similar to the School Attendance class type; however, this class type will only display items that are relevant to the Financial/Billing tabs. If you navigate to the Daily Attendance Settings button under the Settings tab on the left sidebar, any items marked “Billing Value” will appear in this class type’s attendance view. Any other items will not appear. If you use this class type as a dedicated lunch tracking method, you may wish to ensure that you regular School Attendance classes have “Show Billing Value Columns” disabled, so that the lunch column does not appear in other classes.

School Attendance Class

For schools that take attendance once per day as opposed to a class-by-class basis, the School Attendance class type can be used to track and monitor attendance. Attendance values can be edited and created via the Daily Attendance Settings button under the Settings tab on the left sidebar, or click here to learn more about setting up Attendance.

Sport Classes

Sports class types are non-academic classes that allow Administrators and Teachers/Coaches to monitor student eligibility for sports programs based on the student’s letter grades or GPA. In addition, Gradelink allows you to send notifications to students whose grades fall below the required threshold that an Administrator has set up. Sport classes do not appear on academic reports and are not visible on the Student/Parent Interface. Click here for more information regarding setting up your Sport classes!

Term Comments Class

Term Comments classes allows both Teachers and Administrators to write free-form narrative comments that will appear on a student’s Report Card or Progress Report. Term Comments will not appear on Transcripts or on the Student/Parent Interface. Term Comments can be customized by an Administrator to determine the maximum length of each comment. Teachers can have multiple Term Comments classes, and a Term Comments class can, similarly, have multiple teachers assigned to it.

Worship Attendance Classes

The Worship Attendance class type is similar to the School Attendance class type, except that it is specifically meant to track attendance to events such as church, Sunday school, synagogue, or mosque.

Preschool

An electronic sign-in sheet is just like a traditional paper sign-in sheet except that parents/guardians can sign in using a computer or tablet device like an iPad. Each time a student is signed-in or out, that information is saved in your Gradelink account, allowing you to easily run attendance reports.

1. Automate the process. The Preschool Sign-In app makes it easy to check students in and out on a computer, tablet or phone. It even allows multiple users to sign students in or out on separate devices, and it instantly shows you who’s in class. Facilitate car line drop off/pickup.

2. Records and Reports. The Preschool Sign-In app keeps a legal record of attendance, including digital signatures, indefinitely. It can also help speed up your billing process because it records each student’s time in the classroom. Automatic reporting for the total the number of hours a student was in preschool for billing. Ensure accurate sign-in/out times. Historical archives of all sign-in activity.

3. Flexible. Have a parent who needs to authorize someone to pickup their child on a particular day? Or how about an entire week? It can handle that, too.
