Class Rank displays the student’s rank on their transcript based on GPA. There are two modes of ranking students:

1) Show Class Rank of students in relation to all students of their grade level from all graduating classes. For instance, compare 8th graders to all 8th graders since the beginning of time.

1. Click “Transcript Options“.

2. Check “Display Class Rank.

3.Check “Compare to students with the same grade level but different graduation years.“

2) Show Class Rank of students in relation to their graduating class. For instance, compare 8th graders to other 8th graders in the same graduating class.

1. Click “Transcript Options“.

2. Check “Display Class Rank.“

3. Check “Compare to students graduating the same year.“

A graduation date must be entered from the “Students” tab for each student ranked, otherwise they are left out of the calculation. In other words, students without an entered graduation date are not part of any “graduation class” and so therefore can not be compared to in any class rank.

  • For ranking purposes, Gradelink only takes year into account. A student graduating on 6/16/12 would be in the same graduating class as one who graduates on 8/4/12.
  • Students who have a withdrawal date are excluded from class rank.
  • Inactive students who don’t have a withdrawal date but do have a graduation date are included in class rank.
  • The graduation date appears at the top of the transcript.
