How do I delete a staff member?


Solution:

While Gradelink highly recommends deactivating Staff accounts rather than deleting them, it is still possible to delete them.


That being said, there is one major restriction: you can't delete a staff account if it has any classes assigned to it. That includes classes in inactive terms. If you want to delete a staff account that has classes assigned to it, you will need to manually reassign every class to a different teacher.



Once you're certain the staff account has no more classes assigned to it, you can delete the account by following these steps:

  1. Click on the Staff tab.
  2. Select the staff account from the list on the left.
  3. Click Delete Staff in the top right corner.
  4. Click Yes on the confirmation window that appears.


Note: If you try to delete a staff account that still has classes assigned to it, the account will instead be made "Inactive". This is a security feature to prevent accidental deletion of data.
