Scenario:

How do I move a lesson plan to a different date?

How do I bump a lesson plan?

Solution:

Gradelink allows Teachers to move lesson plans using two methods: "Drag and Drop" and "Bumping". However, these methods can affect lesson plans in different ways so it's important to understand the differences.

Method 1: Drag and Drop

This method moves a lesson plan from one date to another.

To move a lesson plan, simply click anywhere on the plan and drag your cursor to the new position. When you let go of the mouse, the lesson plan will 'snap' to its new position.

This method is useful when you need to quickly move either a single lesson plan or a small number of lesson plans. However, this method is very time-consuming if you need to move a large number of lesson plans at once. For these types of scenarios, we recommend the second method.

Method 2: Bumping

The key difference between moving a lesson plan by dragging and dropping it and bumping a lesson plan is that when you bump a lesson plan forward, you move every other lesson plan after the lesson you are bumping. If you are bumping a lesson plan backwards, then you won't affect other lesson plans.

The example above demonstrates how dragging and dropping a lesson plan will not impact other lesson plans, while bumping will.

To bump a lesson plan:

  1. Click on the Lesson Plans tab.
  2. Click on the Arrows in the right corner of the Lesson Plan.
  3. Select the number of days you would like to bump the plan and then click Bump.
  4. Click Yes in the confirmation window that appears.
