In order to submit grade and attendance data recorded in Gradelink to the Data Exchange, academic terms need to be assigned to a specific Ed-Fi Period. Any term in Gradelink that isn't assigned an Ed-Fi Period will be ignored when data is submitted to Data Exchange; subsequently, any grades or attendance records associated with that term will also be ignored.

Note: Not all terms actually require Ed-Fi Periods. For example, if your school makes use of Parent Terms in Gradelink then you would assign an Ed-Fi Period to each Child Term but NOT to the Parent Terms; this is because grades and attendance are only recorded in Child Terms. Similarly, Gradelink will not submit Exam Terms to Data Exchange, so it isn't necessary to assign an Ed-Fi Period.

Assigning an Ed-Fi Period to a Gradelink term is easy: first, go to the Terms tab. Then, select a term from the list on the right side of the page and then select an Ed-Fi Period from the dropdown menu on the left side of the page.

The Ed-Fi Period dropdown menu includes a wide variety of term formats, so select the value that best applies based on how your terms are set up in Gradelink. It's important to note that you can apply the same Ed-Fi Period to multiple terms in Gradelink, if necessary.
